Melody Chen
I’m a 1.5 generation Taiwanese American, passionate about helping teens (15+), young adults, couples, and families learn tools to navigate anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, trauma, addictions, and relational conflicts. Having walked my own healing journey, I hold deep compassion for Asian American communities, mother-daughter relationships, and individuals who grew up in faith-based settings, including pastor's kids and missionary kids. My approach is warm, collaborative, feedback-informed, and trauma-informed, honoring each person’s unique story, culture, and spiritual background to create a safe space for clients to heal from past wounds, reclaim their voice, and develop new patterns of thinking, feeling, and being.
I invite you to reach out to see if we might be a good fit, as I believe the client-therapist relationship is key in therapy!
My educational background is:
Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
I have certifications:
Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator (for couples seeking premarital counseling)
Andrew has extensive training in:
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) Training (in progress)
